  • Fall Colors

Neon orange, lime green, lemony yellows, shadowy teals, purples, and firetruck red~~that is what we viewed as we meandered up to Laurel Hill State Park today. The leaves were simply magnificient. Kate said the hills look like heads of broccoli, but in brilliant colors.

We still smell like campfire after our afternoon and evening with the Henriquezes, Butlers, Welshes, Sam, Josh and Noah. I love that aroma on my clothes for the days to come. L says it makes him sick. LOL Our family wimped out and didn’t stay overnight. I am still feeling poor after the first half of my root canal, plus we had a board meeting this week. We will miss their worship time in the forest tomorrow. Those times are always sweet.

Before we left our friends at Laurel Hill we sang Psalm 119X around the bright fire, but I think we inverted a few stanzas, being wthout books. Then we sang “Trees of the Lord” to celebrate the Creator’s palette, and I think we got all the words right.

For those of you that prayed for the tall guy who skidded down the curb on his chin, chest, arms and knees, he is healing like only a middle-aged dude can. His deep abrasions are turning a lovely plum color for the autumn season, and some of his deeper spots have scabbed a sparkling gold. The blessing is that all the boo-boos are smaller. It is fascinating how skin heals. The whole ordeal did aggravate his spinal stenosis, but he is ambulating like he is 25, well, maybe 29.  He is my loving hero.

  • i love you guys. every time i read your posts i miss you.

about the embedding: the best way to do this on Xanga is, when you find the YouTube vid you want, copy the embed code. go into “new weblog entry”, and on the far right of the text box you will see a little check-box that says “edit HTML”. hit it! when you do, the text box will take on a dotted outline, and depending on your server, there will be about 4 typed characters that appear. in front of the little arrow-br-arrow, paste the code. if you want to add text, click on edit HTML again, which will take you back to the regular text box. the vid will not appear in the text box, so you may have to post and edit to get the look you want.

that’s horribly complicated-looking, but i promise it’s easy. if i can do it, you KNOW it’s pretty simple. that’s my limit!

  • I’m so glad the tall guy is healing! Looking forward to seeing you all next month.

  • son happy the big guy is recovering……sounds like our old age and uncoordination is catching up with all us G’s!!

  • Recovery is just not the same when you get old like that :)

  • Glad the tall guy is recovering, albeit colorfully! :)
